Key Features of the Pre-Qualifying Examination:

As your trusted partner in Loksewa preparation, Edusoft Academy emphasizes understanding the structure of this vital first step. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Mandatory Screening: This exam is a compulsory preliminary screening for non-technical posts like Kharidar, Assistant Level II, or Fourth Level in various organized institutions.
  2. Qualifying Nature: The marks obtained in the pre-qualification exam are solely for qualification purposes. They will not be added to your final merit list. Focus on achieving the pass mark to proceed.
  3. Comprehensive Syllabus: The PSC pre-qualification syllabus covers a broad range of subjects crucial for administrative roles. Typically, it includes:
    1. General Awareness (सामान्य ज्ञान): Testing your knowledge of current affairs, history, geography, science, and more.
    2. Management (व्यवस्थापन): Basic principles of office management and organizational behavior.
    3. Mathematics (गणित): Fundamental arithmetic and logical reasoning.
    4. Service-Related Topics (सेवा सम्बन्धी विषय): General understanding relevant to the specific service or institution.
  4. Objective Format (MCQs): The exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). This requires sharp analytical skills and a good grasp of concepts to choose the correct answer from the given options.
    1. Total Questions: 50 MCQs
    2. Marks per Question: 2 marks
    3. Total Full Marks: 100
    4. Pass Marks: 45
    5. Duration: A tight 45 minutes, emphasizing speed and accuracy.
  5. Negative Marking: Be cautious! There's a 20% deduction for each incorrect answer. Unanswered questions do not incur penalties. This highlights the importance of attempting only what you are confident about.
  6. No Calculator Allowed: Develop your mental math skills, as calculators are generally prohibited during the exam.
  7. Bilingual Option: The question paper may be provided in Nepali, English, or both, offering flexibility to candidates.
  8. Validity of Certificate: Candidates who successfully pass the pre-qualification exam receive a certificate valid for one year. This certificate allows them to apply for relevant vacancies announced by concerned organized institutions within that period.
  9. Centralized by PSC: From FY 2082/83, the PSC will centrally manage the unified preliminary exam, handling everything from vacancy announcements and application processes to exam operation and results. This ensures standardization and efficiency across different institutions.
